Help

How the app works, what it accepts and what happens to your data.

What this app does

Upload a plain-text document and we analyse it with a Python service: character, word, line and sentence counts, unique words, estimated reading time and the most frequent words. Results are saved with the document so you can come back to them later.

Supported files

UTF-8 plain text: .txt, .md and .csv. Other formats (PDF, Word, images) are rejected.

Limits

  • Each file can be up to 1 MB.
  • Up to 25 analyses and 2,000,000 analysed characters per rolling 24 hours. Your current usage is on the Settings page.
  • Analysing the same document with the same settings again returns the existing result instead of using more quota.

What the statuses mean

Queued
The analysis has been accepted and is waiting to start.
Running
The Python service is working on it. The page updates by itself — you can leave and come back.
Succeeded
Results are ready on the document page.
Failed
Something went wrong (for example the service was unavailable or the document was empty). The reason is shown and you can retry.

Privacy

Your files and results are private to your account — other users can't see or download them. Deleting a document removes the file and its analyses.

API

Everything in the app is also available over a JSON API. Interactive reference docs are at /api/v1/docs; requests use your signed-in session.
